about
This track is a celebration of science with a dance beat! It was released on February 11th -- International Women and Girls in Science Day -- and gives a nod to some notable women scientists and their discoveries! The song is a collaboration between Marsha and the Positrons and Claudia Robin Gunn and features the voices of Marsha, Claudia, and Positron band member Ayanna Gallant!
This single is part of a larger project of songs written by Marsha and Claudia over Zoom. The rest are yet to be recorded, but expected to become an album eventually!
lyrics
Thank you science
For teaching us in school
Thank you science
For experiments that are so cool
Thank you science
For keeping us connected
Thank you science
For keeping us protected
To see the tiny things
We can use a microscope
To see the universe
We can use a telescope
Science helps us to explore
Deepest seas and outer space
Study cells or dig fossils
Understand the human race
Da-da-da dat-da dat-da da-da
It’s how we know the earth is round!
Da-da-da dat-da dat-da da-da
Gravity’s why things fall down!
Thank you science
For safe vaccines
Thank you science
For all the work behind the scenes
Thank you science
Discoveries throughout the years
Thank you science
Finding facts not feeding fears
Observe a problem, then hypothesize
Gather data, test it out
Draw conclusions and refine
The scientific method helps us analyze
What’s before our eyes
To see the tiny things
We can use a microscope
To see the universe
We can use a telescope
Science helps us to explore
Deepest seas and outer space
Study cells or dig fossils
Understand the human race
Da-da-da dat-da dat-da da-da
It’s how we know the earth is round!
Da-da-da dat-da dat-da da-da
Gravity’s why things fall down!
Da-da-da dat-da dat-da da-da
Thank you science
Da-da-da dat-da dat-da da-da
Thank you science
